This
original, one of a kind quilt was made by Volunteers of the Virginia Memorial
Quilt Project. Estelle Davis, Vice Chairman of the VMQP of Richmond made the
white and off white background.
The next step - Joyce Birch of Glen Allen hand applique the beautiful
flowers, stems and leaves with a variety of fabrics that compliment each
other.
When it came time for custom quilting this quilt, Debra Jacobs of
Mechanicsville (Cottage Garden Quilting) stepped up and willingly
offered to do the quilting.
You may not be able to see all the
quilting detail, but believe me...it is incredible how she designed the
quilting for this masterpiece. The binding was put on by Joyce Birch. The size
of the quilt is approximately queen size.
If you are interested in making a donation for a raffle ticket for this
quilt...each ticket is $1.00. You can send a check made payable to the
Virginia Memorial Quilt Project and mailed to Estelle Davis; 2621 Linbrook
Drive, Richmond, VA 23228.
PLEASE BE SURE TO INCLUDE A SELF ADDRESSED
ENVELOPE. You can buy as many tickets as you would like...the funding from
this quilt will help the Virginia Memorial Quilt Project continue to send
quilts to the families of Virginia's fallen soldiers of the Iraq War.
Thank you.
